Jim Gamble Masters Class

We now have enough participants to move forward with the one week Marionette Class to be held in my studio in Harbor City, CA (LA Area) July 26-31. We will cover all aspects of marionette design and building as well as aspects of running a puppet company. Housing available from local college at $22 or $44 (single) nearby. Total cost for class is $1500, ($500 deposit required to hold your place.) Unless we have cancellations, we have room for 3 or 4 additional participants. Original cutoff date was July 1, but since we are limited to 10, when it's filled, it's filled.

• Should arrive Sunday, June 25, we can help with transportation from Long Beach or Los Angeles airport. Can depart on Saturday or Sunday July 31 or Aug. 1 (to take advantage of Sat night stayover for best airline rate.
• Should have puppetry experience, not necessarily with marionettes.
• Each participant will finish his/her marionette (unless must depart early).
• Will show different ways to create "for professional use" string puppets as well as more simple ways for students.
• Several of my staff will assist me with costuming, sculpting, mold making and creating body parts.
• I promise an educational, fun-filled week.

Southwest Regional Puppeteers of America Festival Summer 2004.
Dates are June 24 - 27, 2004.
Held in Chandler, Arizona at the San Marcos Resort Hotel.

We are applying for a grant to bring Alan Cook's Collection to the Great Arizona Puppet Theater during that time.
