The girls also brought puppets of their own to share. With the help of Lois Harmeyer and others, the Brownies made horse marionettes. A Steeple Chase racecoarse was set up so that the young puppeteers could manipulate their horse puppets.

Brownies Visit COPA...

About fifteen Brownies from a local troup paid a visit to COPA on Monday, March 8, 2004. They were delighted to see such large variety of puppets. Curator Alan Cook and other COPA members toured the group through the office, photography area and storage room where many marionettes can be seen hanging on racks.

The COPA board would like to invite all members and friends to a general membership meeting on Sunday, March 7 from 1 pm until 4 pm to discuss how best to achieve the short and long term objectives and goals of the organization.

Learn how to take pictures, repair puppets and download information on the computer. You will get hands on experience in these important skills. Then schedule volunteer time to work at COPA, make new friends and help with an important project.

It is critical that COPA develop a hands on support group to continue the important work of documenting, repairing and storing the puppets and related artefacts and books. Once this has been done, COPA will be ready for the next step; scheduling exhibitions, workshops and puppet shows.
